Lyle MacWilliam’s Association with USANA

Mr. Lyle MacWilliam, MSc, FP, is an author, educator and biochemist who serves as a consultant and public advocate to the natural health products industry. A former Canadian Member of Parliament and provincial Member of the Legislative Assembly for British Columbia, Mr. MacWilliam served at the behest of Canada’s former Minister of Health to help develop an innovative regulatory framework for natural health products, ensuring Canadian consumers access to safe, effective and high quality nutritional supplements. As a consultant to the natural health products industry, he continues to work with major nutritional manufacturers in Canada, the United States, Mexico, and China.

Mr. MacWilliam has also served as a contributory writer to Life Extension Foundation, a leading advocate of anti-aging medicine, and has been a consultant to Environment Canada, Human Resources Development Canada, and the British Columbia Science Council. He is a member of the Society of Industry Leaders, an international organization bringing together authorities from all fields in a global network connecting industry veterans and academic professionals with institutional investors.

Mr. MacWilliam was asked to serve as a scientific consultant on the Medical Advisory Board of USANA Health Sciences after the release of the third edition of the Comparative Guide to Nutritional Supplements in 2003. Although this was not a paid position, Mr. MacWilliam voluntarily stepped down as a scientific advisor to USANA precisely because of the concern that it could be perceived as a possible conflict of interest with respect to the publication of his popular Comparative Guides in 2006.

Mr. MacWilliam is neither an employee of USANA Health Sciences nor an Independent USANA Associate.

USANA Foundation

USANA has long been a leader in making a difference in the world. Now the USANA Foundation—a not-for-profit charity founded by Dr. Myron Wentz and Dave Wentz—increases your reach, allowing you to impact the global community in a more profound way.

The mission of the USANA Foundation is to develop a network of communities built on long-lasting, sustainable, and nutritious food.

To accomplish this, the USANA Foundation will accept donations from a variety of sources—Brand Partners, Preferred Customers, employees, the general public, and USANA Health Sciences—and transform those contributions into positive change where it’s needed most. The establishment of the foundation furthers USANA’s philanthropic mission. You will still be able to support previously-established efforts like Children’s Hunger Fund, but the USANA Foundation also allows for a more global reach, giving members of the USANA family in all markets the ability to lend a helping hand and broadening the scope to include additional causes deemed worthy of aid.

The USANA Foundation makes it easy to donate and guarantees your money will be used efficiently and effectively. Not a single penny of your contribution will go to administrative costs—100 percent of every dollar will be committed to helping others. The foundation will also be able to respond quickly to those in urgent need, making your donation as impactful as possible.

All donations to the USANA Foundation may be tax-deductible. Please consult your tax advisor to determine if you are eligible. A list of countries in which the foundation is currently registered for tax-deductible contributions may be found at www.usanafoundation.org.

DONATE NOW!
As a USANA Brand Partner or customer, you have the added benefit of being able to donate in two ways:

  • Make individual donations through USANA’s online Shopping Cart.
  • Maximize the impact of the USANA Foundation by setting up regular contributions on your Auto Order.

To donate through USANA’s online Shopping Cart, go to the Shopping Cart and click on “Donate.” From there, you can select the kind of donation you would like to make. Note: For contributions through your Auto Order, please select the “Auto Order Management” icon at the top of the screen and either create a new Auto Order or update an existing Auto Order by adding the item number of the type of donation you would like to make.

USANA’s humanitarian efforts will now positively impact more people than ever before, and any contribution will make a difference. Commit today to make a donation—no matter how small—and help give the gift of true health to those who need it most.

Changes to a Distributorship Because of Life Events

Marriage

An Associate may request a name change by submitting a new application to USANA with a copy of the marriage certificate.

Associate marrying another Associate- Send a copy of the marriage certificate to USANA Ethics and Training Department.

Divorce

In a divorce situation, USANA will allow one individual to keep the original distributorship and the other to re-enroll immediately, without the usual six-month waiting period. Both parties must agree in writing on all aspects of change to the distributorship in this regard. We ask that you provide a letter of agreement signed by both parties together with a newly executed Associate Application.

Incapacitation and Death

If an Associate passes away or becomes incapacitated, their distributorship (including qualifying for commissions, bonuses, and all Associate responsibilities) may pass to their successor(s). Upon death or incapacitation, the successor(s) must present the USANA Ethics Department with proof of death (a death certificate) or incapacitation (a letter from the distributor’s physician).

Additionally, the successor must provide proof of succession. Some examples could include a will or trust document in the event of death or a Power of Attorney document for incapacitation. These documents should be presented together with a properly completed Associate Application and Agreement. You may inherit and retain another distributorship even though you currently own or operate a distributorship.
