Social Media Informational Materials

It’s easier to connect than ever. The world is at your fingertips and communication is a click away. Social networking is bringing us together in real time, if not IRL—in real life, of course.

All this is great for you. After all, social networking and network marketing share a few important things—a focus on people, an emphasis on building strong relationships, and that word, ‘network.’

Using sites like Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, and many others you can quickly communicate with potential customers or Associates or other like-minded people. It’s all about making and strengthening connections. If you didn’t know any better, you’d think social networking was created for network marketing.

There’s so much out there, it can be hard to know where to start. We’d suggest the beginning. The “Getting Started with Social Media” tutorials on What’s Up, USANA? are your best bet.

USANA social media spans the globe. Visit the Corporate Social Media page on the award-winning What’s Up, USANA? blog for a list of dynamic social sites designed to help you stay up-to-date with everything USANA.

Social Media Images and Backgrounds

Images/Backgrounds

Nothing draws attention on social media more than a compelling Facebook cover photo or an eye-popping Twitter background.

Our design team has created more than a dozen images you’re welcome to use as blog, Twitter, and YouTube backgrounds, as well as specific images perfect to use as your Facebook cover photo.

We’ve divided them in to five themes. Each theme includes a Facebook cover photo, a Twitter background image, a YouTube background image, and a general background image that’s perfect for a blog or your computer desktop.

Each link downloads a .zip file to your computer. Download one or all the themes today!

Online Retail and Auction Sites

USANA understands that Associates engaging in direct selling are successful and profitable when each Associate is given a fair opportunity to sell and promote the company’s products in approved establishments and using approved methods. Selling USANA product on any internet auction site —especially eBay, Amazon, Facebook Marketplace and Taobao— is not authorized, and causes unfair competition. USANA will also not allow any selling via the internet or advertising a USANA product at a price lower than the Auto Order price. Such activities are directly against USANA’s mission statement and purpose, and violators of this policy will be severely sanctioned, up to and including the termination of their Associate contract.

USANA’s ethics and education department also reaffirms its commitment to monitoring eBay, Amazon, Taobao, and other auction sites to ensure total compliance. Recently, USANA’s ethics and education department discovered and successfully stopped several large abusers of this policy. In most such cases, the abuser’s  Associate contract is terminated, losing all rights to commissions.

In addition, USANA has implemented new state-of-the-art technology that allows us to trace products purchased online to the original buyer. We will continue to monitor all other online sellers and find those who disregard our policies by offering USANA’s high-quality nutritional products via unapproved online retail/auction sites at a discount. As a reminder, it is also a violation to participate in any scheme to provide USANA products to a third party for sale on eBay or any other website.

If you have information that may lead to the identification of anyone breaking USANA’s Terms & Policies (section 19) regarding the online sale of products, please contact the ethics and education department at Ethics@usanainc.com.

Verification of Employment

USANA Brand Partners and customers are not employees of USANA. The Associate Agreement does not create an employer/employee relationship, agency, partnership, or joint venture with USANA. Brand Partners shall not represent themselves to be employees, agents, or purchasers of a franchise. Brand Partners are responsible for paying any income or taxes they may owe, and for their own business expenses.

For further information, please refer to USANA’s Terms and Policies, section 6.

Business Transfers

If wanting to transfer your distributorship to another person, you will need to fill out the Transfer of Distributorship and Associate Application. To receive approval from USANA, send a signed transfer form along with a formal written request to the USANA Ethics and Education Department. Please keep in mind the following criteria:

  • You must be an Associate in good standing and not in violation of any of the terms of the Associate Agreement or Terms and Policies as determined by USANA in its sole discretion.
  • Before any transfer will be approved by USANA, any debt obligations the selling Associate has with USANA must be satisfied.
  • The combining of Distributorships is not permitted. USANA will not approve the transfer of a Distributorship to any individual or Entity that is a current Associate or who has an ownership interest in any Distributorship. Similarly, USANA will not approve the transfer of a Distributorship to any individual or Entity that has previously had any ownership interest in, or operated, a USANA Distributorship.
  • No individual Business Centers may be transferred separately from the Distributorship. If an Associate wishes to transfer his/her Distributorship, all Business Centers must be included in the transfer.
  • The transferring Associate must notify the USANA Ethics and Education Department of his/her intent to transfer the Distributorship. No changes in line of sponsorship can result from the transfer of a Distributorship.

*USANA Terms & Policies 26

When an Associate account is transferred through a Transfer of Distributorship or succession, the new account owner is accepting the business as is. Thus, the PaceSetter status, or lack thereof, and anniversary date for qualification for PaceSetter will remain the same after the transfer.

Timeframe After Enrollment to Start Enrolling Others in Team Below

Associates may immediately begin to enroll new Associates and Preferred Customer in their Team Below after their initial enrollment.

Switching Main Applicant and Co-Applicant on a Distributorship

To switch the main Applicant and Co-Applicant on a Distributorship, please fax, mail, or email a properly completed Business Transfer Request form to USANA’s Ethics Department. The Business Transfer Request form can be found here

Ethics email: ethics@usanainc.com

Ethics Fax: (800) 289-8081

An Associate may not add or remove a co-applicant with the intent to circumvent the terms of the Agreement. Any time an applicant or co-applicant is removed from the Business, it must be done in accordance with the terms of the Agreement and is subject to approval at USANA’s discretion.

Selling in Pharmacies or Other Retail Outlets

Generally, products should be obtained directly from Associates, not from a retail outlet. Pharmacies or other such retail-oriented outlets are not necessarily improper establishments for retailing USANA products. The determining factor as to displaying and retailing in a retail outlet is whether the majority of revenue comes from the sale of products (retail oriented) or services (service oriented). Commercial outlets where professional services are the primary source of revenue are acceptable outlets for Associates to display and retail USANA products. Most pharmacies are considered a retail oriented outlet of which USANA products may not be displayed or retailed.

See USANA’s Policies & Procedures, section 3.5 on Commercial Outlets.

Electronic or Digital Signature

Associates are required to submit a signed application at the time of temporary enrollment by phone or Internet. An Associate will not be able to access The Hub after 21 days have elapsed from the date of their enrollment unless they complete the electronic/digital signature or their written contract is received by USANA by fax or mail.

A message and a link will appear when logging on to The Hub that will allow the Associate to give an electronic signature through The Hub. Once an electronic signature is given, the information is stored electronically only; the Associate will not have the opportunity to print out an electronically-signed Associate Application Agreement.

Currently, the electronic signature option is available in all markets, except Taiwan.
