FAQ

When can I purchase Celavive®?

Is Sensé discontinued?
Yes, USANA Celavive will replace the Sensé face-care products. However, Sensé Body Care products have not been discontinued and will still be available until further notice.

How does the Celavive Cell-Signaling Complex work?
The Cell-Signaling Complex found in Celavive is made up of two bioactive peptides and two botanical extracts. When combined, these key ingredients hydrate your skin, which works to counteract visible signs of chronological and lifestyle stress aging—like fine lines and wrinkles—by targeting key skin receptors. In addition, this exclusive blend of beautifying nutrients also helps support six major elements that can help maintain the look of a healthy skin matrix—including collagen, elastin, and hyaluronic acid—for younger-looking skin.

Can I use the products with other brands?
Celavive products were designed to be used together. For best results, we recommend you use the entire Celavive regimen designed for your skin type.

How do I know which products are right for me?
You can personalize your regimen by identifying your skin type and then choosing your products based on your unique concerns.
Dry/sensitive skin types have dry, almost tight skin that is more prone to sensitivity.
Combination/oily skin types have active oil production in their “t-zone” and sometimes even on their cheeks.
Check out the Skincare Transition Guide to learn how to select the best products for your individual needs.

Can I use the products if I have sensitive skin?
Yes. We offer a variety of products designed specifically for dry/sensitive skin types. If you are prone to occasional skin irritation, we suggest testing the new products on a small patch of skin on the inside of your elbow or wrist prior to applying it to your face.

How soon will I start seeing results?
Results are different for each person, depending on your concerns. Most people will immediately see a difference in skin hydration and overall appearance. You’ll begin to notice more dramatic visual results in two to four weeks. With regular use, you’ll not only see the difference but feel the benefits of these scientifically advanced formulas.

Shortly after beginning to use Celavive, I’ve noticed some breakouts. Is that normal?
It is completely normal when transitioning to a new skincare routine to experience some minor breakouts or an increase in oil production.

Where is Celavive made?
Most Celavive products are manufactured by USANA’s skincare partner in a state-of-the-art facility located in Japan. This facility specializes in skincare production and is well known for their extremely high manufacturing standards.

Since we launched USANA Celavive four years ago, it’s been our goal to manufacture our luxurious, high-quality formulas in-house. With this in mind, starting in 2021, the Celavive Conditioning Makeup Remover will be manufactured in our own facilities for all markets. Perfecting Toner, Vitalizing Serum, and Hydrating Eye Essence will be manufactured in-house for our U.S. and Canada markets, with more products likely to transition in the coming months.

Why was Celavive developed in place of Sensé?
Celavive was formulated to support the natural communication between your skin cells to send signals that target your skin’s innate beautifying processes. That means Celavive goes beyond traditional skincare regimens to deliver beautiful results that are perfectly unique to your concerns. Celavive formulas are advanced and highly competitive with what is available in the skincare industry today.

What made USANA decide to discontinue Sensé?
The skincare industry is very competitive and the science behind effective skincare is consistently evolving. We felt it was time to introduce a line that reflected the most current innovations. With the introduction of USANA InCelligence Technology®, we now have the ability to support the communication of skin cells—helping create cutting-edge skincare products that respond uniquely to you to create radiant, younger-looking skin.

What nutritionals support my beauty regimen?
With any nutritional regimen, it’s always best to start with the core foundation of USANA® CellSentials. Then, add products like BiomegaProflavanol C 100Visionex, and CoQuinone —all products that contain valuable nutrients necessary for healthy-looking skin.

Where does the name “Celavive” come from?
We chose the name Celavive because it represents the idea that your cells are alive, working together to create a beautiful complexion. Beauty is more than skin deep, which is why we believe the best way to achieve truly radiant skin is to support your skin’s natural renewing abilities.

Is Celavive packaging recyclable?

How do I use the Hydrating + Lifting Sheet Mask?
Use the sheet mask after cleansing and toning, when your skin is clean and dry. Gently unfold the mask and place it on your face. Adjust it to fit comfortably around your mouth, nose, and eyes. Leave on for 20 minutes. Gently remove the mask and massage any remaining serum into the skin, including the neck. Follow with Celavive Vitalizing Serum, Hydrating Eye Essence, and preferred Celavive moisturizer.

What step in my regimen do I use my sheet mask?
The mask should be used 2–3 times a week or as desired. You will use the mask after cleansing and toning your skin and prior to applying any additional Celavive products.

Do I wash my face after I remove the mask?
No. Massage any remaining serum into the skin after removing the sheet mask.

What age group should use the mask?
Celavive features high-performance skincare products designed for aging skin. The target age group is 20–70.

How many masks are in one package?
Three individual masks.

Why should I use Radiant Facial Oil?
Applying a facial oil supplements your skin’s natural oils to help add moisture and support its natural barrier. Radiant Facial Oil does this and more, with super botanical oils and a new Celavive technology powered by chloroplasts and soline.

Shouldn’t my moisturizer be enough?
Moisturizers hydrate your skin in a different way than facial oils do. Moisturizers can even increase the water level of your skin. Applying a face oil after your moisturizer creates an enhanced protective barrier on your skin’s surface to prevent essential hydration from escaping.

If I am blemish prone or have oily skin, should I use a facial oil?
Typically people who are prone to blemishes or are excessively oily won’t enjoy a facial oil. However, facial oils aren’t totally off limits for these skin types—especially if you are using products to counteract oily skin or blemishes. Such products tend to dry out the skin, and facial oils may be a great solution to nourish any dry patches. Choose your product with care; try it out for a few days to see how your skin reacts. Talk to your dermatologist beforehand about the benefits of a facial oil for your specific skin type. Oil or not, always use a moisturizer. It’s every bit as important for oily skin to be as hydrated as dry skin.

Where does Radiant Facial Oil fit into my Celavive regimen?
The most common way to use our facial oil is applying a few drops after using Vitalizing Serum and before your day or night moisturizer, but facial oils can be used in various ways. Feel free to experiment with our new facial oil and where it fits into your regimen. Try adding it to your serum or moisturizer. Remember to always finish your daytime routine with sunscreen.

Should I replace my serum or current moisturizer for Radiant Facial Oil?
No. Continue to use Celavive moisturizers (applied separately) and serums to help promote hydration (like our serums with Cell-Signaling Complex do). Adding a facial oil to your skincare regimen adds a level of protection from environmental damage to help lock in moisture for a healthy-looking glow.

Does facial oil have different applications?
Yes. Facial oil can be applied to the ends of your hair for extra smoothing, or add a few drops to your favorite body moisturizer for boosted hydration.

How should I apply Radiant Facial Oil?
Apply Radiant Facial Oil alone, or combine it with other non-SPF moisturizers or serums in your skincare regimen. Massage three to five drops of oil gently onto your face, neck, and decolletage. Follow with Celavive moisturizer.

What are the main ingredients in Radiant Facial Oil?
Sunflower seed, borage, jojoba, coconut, argan, pomegranate seed, bitter apricot, and rose hip oil make USANA’s Radiant Facial Oil a standout in skincare. They provide ultra hydration for all skin types—especially dry and sensitive—and include extra skin-nurturing benefits like antioxidants, fatty acids, anti-pollution defenses, amino acids, essential minerals, and more.

Does Radiant Facial Oil have USANA InCelligence Technology?
Yes, our Radiant Facial Oil is created using USANA InCelligence Technology. The new Celavive technology in our Facial Oil comes from chloroplastim, a unique blend of coconut oil, alfalfa extract, and squalene that help support your skin’s natural barrier and help it retain moisture.

What is skin brightening?
The skin can produce melanin, a pigment made in the top layer of skin that gives you your natural skin color. Dark spots and hyperpigmentation can occur as your skin is exposed to UV light. While in most cases discoloration is safe for the skin, many dislike the look of an uneven, blotchy complexion. Skin brightening is the process of using topical ingredients to lighten and fade the look of dark spots and uneven skin tone.

Why do I need to shake the Protective Day Lotion?
You always want to shake your SPF products to make sure all the ingredients are well mixed for effective protection. It’s the best way to ensure you get the UVA/UVB coverage you need.

Are Celavive products tested on animals?
USANA does not test our products or ingredients on animals. Furthermore, research on Celavive ingredients does not involve animal testing. Celavive is produced to world-class standards and each product goes through rigorous testing to ensure quality and safety for our consumers. As a world leader in health and wellness products, USANA must comply with testing required by law in each of our global markets. While USANA does not and will not carry out animal testing on our products, in countries like China, health authorities may still require and carry out their own animal testing for certain products.
